St John’s Shopping Centre Gears up for a Red Nose Day to Remember
The team at St John’s Shopping Centre, Perth, are gearing up for a Red Nose Day to remember this Friday with a whole host of events taking place to encourage you to give generously to Comic Relief.
The fundraising events, which have already raised over £1500, have been overseen by centre manager, Siobhan McConnell, who is encouraging everyone to pop into the shopping centre on Friday to get involved.
“Comic Relief is a very worthwhile charity that helps transform the lives of people in the UK and Africa, and brings out the fun and laughter in people. Whether you want your face painted, an outrageous Red Nose Hairdo, or want your own fundraising activities broadcast live on Perth FM between 1am and 1pm, we’ll have it all here on Friday, starting at 11am.”
Funny Hair!: In return for a donation, Charlie Taylor, member of the British Hairdressing Hall of Fame, and her team of stylists will be creating crazy Red Nose Day hairdos for visitors who want to create a stir.
Funny Muffins!: In return for a donation, BB’s Coffee & Muffins will be giving a Wee Red Nose Muffin to all customers when they buy a coffee between 12pm and 2pm on Friday.
Funny Silence!: If you saw champion chainsaw carver Peter Bowsher carving out a golden eagle last Saturday, don’t miss your opportunity to bid for the unique piece in our silent auction.
Funny Balls! We’ve got two cars, a Smart Car and a Caterham 7, and they’ve both been stuffed to the brim with red balls – but can you guess how many? It’s £1 a guess and you could win either a Kids Tank Driving Experience for you and 7 friends or a Driving Experience with OpenRoadHire.
Funny Raffle!: Many Perthshire businesses have very generously offered up a range of prizes for the Red Nose Day Raffle, including the star prize worth £750, a two night luxury spa break for two adults at new hotel and spa property, Knock Castle in Crieff. Tickets cost £1 each with all proceeds going to Comic Relief.
Siobhan McConnell, St John’s Shopping Centre manager commented, “We’ve had so much fun this week raising money for Comic Relief and it all culminates on Friday. There are some amazing prizes to be won and all we ask is that you take 5 minutes out of your day to take part and do something funny for money.”
For further information about the fundraising activities, visit the Red Nose Day shop in the South Street Mall which is open every day, from 11am – 4pm. To donate to St John’s Shopping Centre’s fundraising online, visit www.myrednoseday.com/stjohns.
